Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona!
Mobile world congress is the largest mobile trade show in the world; kicking off in Barcelona, February 21 till the 25th, it’s a place that witnesses some of the largest handset launches over the years, and will continue to astonish us with its launches.
Everyone was waiting for the veil to be raised on some of the biggest smartphone attendance that were spoken about in the past and confirmed their attendance in the congress. The walls can’t contain the excitement.
Many of us think that we don’t have the need to change our mobiles every 12 months, however several announcements were made at the MWC that would make you think twice about that thought.
Starting with one juicy piece of news, Mark Zuckerberg showed up to confirm his support for the Samsung Gear VR that is partially powered by Oculus which is owned by Facebook. Facebook had created a social VR team to emphasise on the VR’s social interaction, they will discover how people can share and interact through VR.
Samsung raised the veil on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge as they also revealed a 360-degree consumer camera for stills and video to be used in VR headsets.
LG announced a new Flagship, the LG G5! It has a Quad HD display with a removable battery and a dual camera on the rear. More on the exciting announcements on VR, LG also introduced a new line of accessories that includes a VR headset (LG 360 VR Headset), bolt-on like the LG Cam Plus and the LG Hi-Fi Plus and a 360 camera.
On another note, Google announced the launch of Google Android N that will be introduced in May; while HP took the chance to announce the introduction of a new tablet called The HP Elite X3 which is a 6 inch device that can become a notebook or desktop with special gadgets or accessories used.
The flourishment of Huawei continues with announcing a dual boot notebook. The MateBook comes with a detachable keyboard, the latter of which triples up as a laser pointer, MatePen stylus, projection clicker, and much more that makes it more of a compelling product!
Last but not least, to cap it all off, Microsoft declared their huge shift to windows 10 and aiming for a single platform strategy across all hardware.
